Assignment 1: Pre-Production Theory
Pre Production Theory

Before everything you will need some one or company to fund you this is done by pitching your concepts to the conglomerates such as Disney or Warner Brothers after this you will need to spitball ideas around, after you have the concept you like you move onto making notes, spreadsheets, lists and spider diagrams this will help put the concept together. after that you work out which genre the idea will fall under. the next step is to think about actors and actresses, you also need to take into consideration how long your film will be for example if your film will last five minutes this will be classed as a short film or ninety minutes for a full film. their is also the possibility that you will make a TV show which normally lasts 30 minutes. in the process you also need to get the story line sorted this is done by writing ideas on a piece of paper or in word on the computer. the next step is to think about the budget you need to actually make the film. Next you  need to get the equipment such as camera and lighting. you also need to think about what props you need such as food and knives and forks. to make it easier for yourself you can make a spider diagram, a spider diagram is where you put the film name in the center and then you put lines coming off the middles and put another bit of text such as "equipment", "actors" etc. after you have the sub headings you put the information necessary to the heading for example if you put equipment you put to the side cameras, lighting etc. Next you need to make a budget plan this is where you total how much you need to spend for your film. an easy way to do this is to make a list of every single thing you will need to buy, this includes equipment, props, locations and actors. a necessary document you need to fill out is a risk assessment for every new location you film this prevents accidents from happening also stops deaths in some cases as people in the past have died shooting movies..
Once you have created your spider diagram you need to actually start buying the necessary items to build your film such as microphones, lighting, actors, directors, cameras and more staff that may be needed for example editors, camera men and sound operators these are just a few of the full screw that is needed.an easy way to note down what you need and how much every thing costs is by using the Microsoft software Excel this has many features like tables rows and columbs. The software totals up each row and column with a simple formula that is found by a quick google search.

Once you have specific concept you like you move onto the script writing this is made with the online Adobe story https://story.adobe.com this website is the perfect tool to write a script as it has many features such as a front page and formatting each line for example if you pick scene heading it moves your text to the left and capitalizes the writing. The website has 9 different formatting options "Scene Heading", this is where you write the location of where you want your director to film it "Action" this is where you write what the atmosphere of the scene will be for example "It was a cold night and the wind whistled, magic was in the air.". The next formatting option is "Character" this is where your character speaks. the next option on the website is dialogue this is where you implement speech into the script, the next option is transition this where you change the scene.

Communication in film making is vital as it could make or brake a movie. You could make a timetable for each member of your crew this will make sure everyone knows what they are doing

In most cases in films you have music this could be instrumental or voice music but to get access to the music you will need to get permission from the artist over wise your film would get sued. To get permission you need to contact the artist or the record company the artist is attached too. you would normally email the company if the artist says you can use the audio you will be able to put it into your film. You will need to get proof that the artist accepts. some times you can work out a deal with the record company or the artist for example you could give the artist a percentage of the film profit or just work out a sum of money before hand,
